Financial Statements
A financial statement is the final financial report prepared for your business that is usually required for:
- Applications for finance
- In the case where you want to sell your business (the buyer will want to understand the health of your business in the past)
- Compliance; the CIPC and SARS usually require these to be submitted as supporting documents to annual returns and income tax returns.
- For you as the business owner to use in assessing how your business has performed over the year and compared to the previous year
- Financial statements can be prepared according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) framework or
- The International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities ( IFRS for SME’s) framework.
